Atlantic League: The independent Atlantic League started its 2024 season this week and again has ten teams aligned in five-team North and South divisions with teams playing 126 games in a split-season schedule through September 15, 2024. The league had ten teams last season but the Spire City Ghost Hounds (Frederick, MD) are sitting out the 2024 season and the Gastonia (NC) Honey Hunters were removed from the league for unpaid debts to the city. Rivermen Clinch Second President's Cup Title
PEORIA, IL - For the second year in three, the Peoria Rivermen are President's Cup Champions. Alec Hagaman led the charge in his final game in a Rivermen uniform with two goals and an assist as Peoria defeated the Huntsville Havoc 5-1 on Saturday night at Carver Arena. Once again, Peoria struck quickly as Alec Hagaman struck the back of the net just 65 seconds into the contest to put the Rivermen up 1-0. Battlehawks Destroy D.C. Hex in Emphatic 45-12 Victory
The St. Louis Battlehawks ran their winning streak to a franchise-best four games Sunday with a 45-12 win over the XFL Conference-rival D.C. Defenders in front of 16,058 fans at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. The St. Louis (4-1) defense and special teams gave the offense possession inside Defenders (2-3) territory for seven of its nine scoring drives in a 33-point victory that was the largest margin in team history.
