Willeman and Schumpert Return for 2025

April 18, 2025 - SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The Sioux City Explorers have announced that the club has signed right-handed pitcher Zach Willeman and infielder Nick Shumpert for the 2025 season. Willeman posted the second lowest ERA among the Explorers pitching staff at 3.42, and Schumpert swiped 40 bases also good for second on the team as the pair were key contributors for the X's during the 2024 season. Gomez and McAuliffe Added to the X's Roster

April 8, 2025 - SIOUX CITY, IA - The Sioux City Explorers have announced that the club has signed outfielder Dario Gomez and right-handed pitcher Nick McAuliffe for the 2025 season. The addition of Gomez, who hit 30 home runs last season in the Pioneer League, and McAuliffe, who had 114 strikeouts over his last two collegiate seasons, brings the total players signed to 24 for Sioux City. April 1, 2025 - SIOUX CITY, IA - The Sioux City Explorers have announced that the club has signed left-handed pitcher Jared Wetherbee for the 2025 season. The lefty will return to Sioux City for his third seaso n and will once again be a key piece of the Explorers pitching staff. Wetherbee is the 1 2 th pitcher and the 22nd player that the Explorers have inked in the offseason.
