Oil Kings Not Renewing Contract of Luke Pierce

April 24, 2025 - Edmonton, Alta. - The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that they have not renewed the contract of Luke Pierce as the team's Head Coach. "This was a difficult decision, as Luke has been a valued part of our team and community for the past 7 seasons," said Oil Kings President and General Manager Kirt Hill. Sawchyn Named to Team Canada's World Under-18 Roster

April 24, 2025 - Hockey Canada announced today their roster for the World Under-18 Hockey Championships in Frisco and Allen, Texas featuring Oil Kings forward Lukas Sawchyn. Sawchyn is ranked 69th among North American Skaters in NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft. In 66 games this past season, Sawchyn had 15 goals and 40 assists for 55 points. Fiddler Named to Team U.S.A for World Under-18 Hockey Championships

April 22, 2025 - Oil Kings defenceman Blake Fiddler has officially been named to the United States roster for the World Under-18 Hockey Championships. Fiddler, a 2025 draft eligible blue liner, led all Oil Kings defencemen in goals this season with 10, and added 23 assists for 33 points, which also led the Oil Kings blue line. Three Former Oil Kings Set to Play in Stanley Cup Playoffs

April 18, 2025 - Edmonton, Alta. - Three Oil Kings Alumni will start their quest for the Stanley Cup this weekend with their respective NHL clubs. Forwards Curtis Lazar is with the New Jersey Devils, forward Jake Neighbours is with the St. Louis Blues, and defenceman Kaiden Guhle is with the Montreal Canadiens. Lazar, out of Salmon Arm, B.C., is currently in his 11th NHL season, and third season with the Devils.
