
Winterhawks Announce 2022-23 Regular Season Schedule

Portland, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks, proud member club of the Western Hockey League (WHL), today announced its 2022-23 regular-season schedule in accordance with the WHL.
The Winterhawks will play a total of 68 regular season games (34 home and 34 away), opening their 47th season on Friday, September 23 against the 2023 Memorial Cup Host Kamloops Blazers at the Sandman Centre. The Winterhawks will open their home slate at Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, October 1 against their divisional rival, the Tri-City Americans.

VENUE & START TIMES
All 34 home games for the 2022-23 season will be played at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The start time (PT) for all home games, sorted by day of the week, are listed below:
Games Monday through Friday: 7:00 p.m.
Saturday Games: 6:00 p.m.
Sunday Games: 5:00 p.m.
Exceptions to the above are:
Saturday, December 31 (New Year's Eve): 5:00 p.m.
Monday, January 23: 12:00 p.m.
SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN
The WHL's scheduling format will see the Winterhawks play games against all 21 league opponents, including their first Eastern Conference road trip since the 2019-20 season. The Winterhawks will be on the road for their East Division swing from January 6 to January 14.
Portland will play each U.S. Division team a minimum of eight times and will face Seattle a season-high 12 times (six home, six road) and each B.C. Division team four times (two home, two road).
Portland's longest road trip will take place from February 15 - March 3, featuring seven games and five different opponents (Everett, Kelowna, Prince George, Seattle and Spokane). The Winterhawks' season-long home stand will be four games, happening once in late October and once in mid-January.
The Winterhawks busiest month of the season will be November containing 13 games. The 2022-23 schedule contains 19 back-to-back sets, three sets of three games in three days and one stretch of four games in five days.
HOLIDAY BREAK
The 2021 WHL Season will once again pause for its annual holiday break. The Winterhawks will not play games from December 18-27 and the team's offices are expected to be closed during that time.
WINTERHAWKS 2022-23 FULL SEASON MEMBERSHIPS START AS LOW AS $663 PER SEAT
Full season memberships for the 2022-23 season are on sale now. In addition, 20-game plans are also available, which start as low as $20 per seat, per game. Smaller ticket packages and single game tickets will be made available later this summer.

PROMOTIONAL NIGHTS
We are excited to announce the return of four fan-favorite promotion nights during the 2022-23 season:
October 1: Home Opener
December 10: Teddy Bear Toss
December 31: New Year's Eve Game
March 4: Mascot Night
Be there for the first drop of the puck on October 1, make it rain teddy bears on December 10, celebrate the arrival of 2023 on December 31 and catch the most exciting intermission game in hockey on March 4! A full promotional schedule will be released by the team later this summer.
MONTHLY BREAKDOWN:
November and December will be the busiest months for the Winterhawks at Veterans Memorial Coliseum with seven home games each month. The monthly breakdown is as follows:
September: 2 Road / 0 Home
October: 2 Road / 6 Home
November: 6 Road / 7 Home
December: 3 Road / 7 Home
January: 7 Road / 5 Home
February: 9 Road / 3 Home
March: 5 Road / 6 Home
DAILY BREAKDOWN:
24 of the club's 34 home games will come on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. In total, the breakdown is as follows:
Monday: One (1) Game
Tuesday: Five (5) Games
Wednesday: Four (4) Games
Thursday: Zero (0) Games
Friday: Seven (7) Games
Saturday: Thirteen (13) Games
Sunday: Four (4) Games
