July 21, 2023 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Oklahoma Warriors News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - The Oklahoma Warriors, proud member of the North American Hockey League, promoted Wade Chiodo to the title of Team President.
Chiodo, previously Director of Player Personnel, is entering his fourth season with the Warriors organization. He previously served three years with the Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL) as their Director of Scouting.
As President, Chiodo continues to scout future players while taking on the role of marketing the Warriors' brand and promoting the game of hockey to Oklahoma City. Following a successful inaugural season, Chiodo hopes to continue making inroads with the community.
"We want to bring more awareness of what we have to offer to Oklahoma City," Chiodo said. "It is pretty neat. Obviously, winning the whole thing last year. It is a high level of hockey and it is exciting. The big thing is getting the word out there of what we bring to the city, and how wonderful it is to see all these athletes come here whose ultimate goal is to be a division I hockey player."
Chiodo, 43, grew up in northern Minnesota and attended Bemidji State University, alma mater of Warriors' head coach Garrett Roth. The right-shooting winger played four seasons of collegiate hockey and has worked for various teams over the last 15 years. This is his eighth season working in junior hockey.
"Hopefully it grows the game," Chiodo said. "Not just for the Warriors organization, but for everybody across the board. It is neat to grow the game here. Hockey is a special game. I am from Minnesota, and I have seen the game continue to grow there. To bring the opportunity for more people to grab on to the game would be wonderful."
Chiodo can be reached via email at wchiodo.okwarriors@gmail.com.
