Trashers sign veteran forward Jeff Daw

DANBURY, CT—The Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League have signed veteran forward Jeff Daw, who played last season in the American Hockey League, it was announced today by Team President A.J. Galante.

A consistent scoring threat during his first nine seasons as a professional, the 32-year-old Carlyle, Ontario native will look to provide finesse and a scoring touch to the formidable Trashers lineup.

Daw has skated in a number of professional leagues, but has spent the majority of his career in the American Hockey League (AHL). He has played for Hamilton, Lowell, Hershey, Springfield and St. John's in the AHL, Wheeling in the ECHL, Cleveland and Houston in the IHL and one game for the NHL's Colorado Avalanche during the 2001-02 season where he recorded an assist.

He led the Hamilton Bulldogs in scoring during the 1997-98 season with 63 points on 28 goals and achieved the same honor for Hershey during the 2001-02 season when he led the Bears with 51 points on 26 goals. Daw has played in 548 professional games with 359 points on 155 goals. Prior to turning professional, Daw skated four seasons for U-Mass Lowell, where he scored 141 points on 68 goals in 157 games played.

Danbury returns to action tonight against Elmira from First Arena starting at 7pm. The game can be heard over the Internet via DanburyTrashers.com with your Windows Media Player. Phil Giubileo will provide the play-by-play. The Trashers are home on Friday against Richmond at 7:30pm and against Flint on Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 5:30pm. Tickets for the weekend games at the Danbury Ice Arena are available at DanburyTrashers.com, by calling 866-565-PUCK, ext. 116 during business hours or at the Danbury Ice Arena from Noon-6pm on weekdays, 9am-5pm on Saturday's and 11am-5pm on Sunday's.
