Sydney - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles announced today that their training camp roster will remain at 26 players heading into the Labour Day weekend.
The roster consists of 15 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 3 goaltenders. The three goaltenders include 19 year old veteran Philippe Trudeau, 19 year old European David Honzik, and 16 year old Alex Bureau, a 2012 second round draft pick. Honzik is currently recovering from shoulder surgery and is expected to be game ready sometime in October.
According to General Manager Pierre Roux, the Screaming Eagles will likely start the season with 24 players including the 3 goaltenders. The remaining two cuts will be made over the next few weeks.
