
Titans receive Norrie from Condors

TRENTON, NJ (February 2, 2006) - The Trenton Titans announced on Thursday that they have acquired right wing Jason Norrie from the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for left wing Mathieu Brunelle.
Norrie, 28, began the season with the London Racers of the Elite Ice Hockey League in the United Kingdom. The eight-year veteran registered 11 points (5g, 6a) in 19 games for the Racers before joining Bakersfield on November 30 where notched 5 goals, 4 assists and 50 penalty minutes in 17 appearances. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Norrie has skated in 458 professional games while compiling 100 goals, 134 assists and 1334 penalty minutes.
Brunelle, 22, heads to the Condors for the second time in two years. In his third-year of professional hockey, Brunelle leaves the Titans as their second-leading scorer this season with 23 points (10g, 13a) in 37 games. A seventh round selection (201st overall) of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the Warwick, Quebec native totaled 100 points (48g, 52a) in 138 games with Trenton.
In a separate transaction, the Titans have traded the rights for defenseman Neil Petruic to the Charlotte Checkers for future considerations.
Petruic, 23, signed with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League before appearing in a game for Trenton. The 23-year-old native of Regina, Saskatchewan, has tallied a goal and three assists in 28 games for Binghamton. Petruic was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the eighth round (235th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
