Regina Pats News Release
Regina, Sask. - The Seattle Thunderbirds continued on their tear and opened their East Division swing with a convincing 6-0 win over the Regina Pats Friday night at the Brandt Centre. The game marked Seattle's first visit to Regina since January 6. 2019, exactly four years ago to the day, a 6-3 Thunderbirds victory.
Jordan Gustafson scored twice (14th and 15), Coster Dunn (second) and Gracyn Sawchyn (12th) added singles in the first period to give the Tunderbirds a 4-0 lead heading into the first intermission. The Thunderbirds continued to pour it on in the middle forty minutes as Lucas Ciona added a pair of markers (17th and 18th) to increase their lead to 6-0 heading into the third period. Neither team was able to light the lamp in the third period and the Thunderbirds skated away with a 6-0 victory.
Scott Ratzlaff was perfect on the night stopping all 28 Pats' shots to pick up his fourth shutout of the season (fifth of his career), and his second straight shutout for the Thunderbirds. Kelton Pyne played well despite allowing six goals on 34 shots in the loss.
