
Thunder Drops Preseason Tilt to Oilers in OT, 4-3

WICHITA, KS - Wichita played its only preseason contest on Friday night, falling to longtime rival, Tulsa, 4-3, in overtime at the Wichita Ice Center.
Jordan Biro, Antoine Guignard and Ethan Scardina provided the offense while Robert Kincaid led all scorers with two assists.
Tulsa jumped out to a 2-0 lead, scoring twice in a six-minute span. Kyle Kukkonen connected at 7:37 of the first, catching Thunder netminder Connor Hasley off the crease and burying it into a wide-open net.
At 13:19, Caiden Gault made it 2-0 with helpers from Bradley Somers and Zach Taylor.
Guignard cut the lead in half at 17:10, making a terrific stickhandling move around a defenseman and beat Jake Sibell to make it 2-1.
In the second, Biro tied the game at two. He took a feed from Kyle Jeffers at 12:50 and beat Sibell.
Scardina gave the Thunder their first lead at 1:23 of the third. He made a nice move through the neutral zone and put one past Vladislav Bryzgalov to make it 3-2.
Ethan Benz tied it at three at 10:05. He stole the puck from the behind the net and beat Yaroslav Korostelev.
Tulsa outshot the Thunder in the third, but the game needed extra time to decide a winner.
Jonny Hooker netted the game winner at 2:41. He skated across the Thunder blueline, cut down the left wing and fired a shot through Korostelev to give the Oilers the win.
Wichita and Tulsa both went 0-for-1 on the power play. The Oilers outshot the Thunder 30-20 in the game.
