Springfield Armor News Release

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Springfield Armor, presented by MGM Springfield, announced Monday the acquisition of guard Khalif Wyatt from the Reno Bighorns in exchange for Canton's fourth round draft pick (previously acquired in a trade with Texas) and returning player rights to Kenny Adeleke.

Pronounced Kah-LEAF, Wyatt starred at Temple University, starting all 34 games his senior season of 2012-13 in which he led the Owls with 20.5 points per game and 58 steals on the season. The 6-4 guard paced the Owls to a No. 9 seed and third round berth in the 2013 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, which came to an end with a six-point loss to the top-seeded Indiana Hoosiers out of the East.

After going undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft, Wyatt joined the Philadelphia 76ers' summer league team, averaging 13.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists over five games in Orlando. Wyatt had his contract waived by the 76ers on October 25 after which he signed a deal with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association. Wyatt was waived by the Sixers along with two current NBA D-Leaguers in Vander Blue and Mac Koshwal as well as former Rio Grande Valley Viper Royce White.

Wyatt will wear No. 7 tonight against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Springfield will return to action tonight at 6:00 p.m. inside the MassMutual Center to host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. For more information on the Armor, visit www.ArmorHoops.com or call (413) 746-3263. Keep up with the Armor on Facebook and Twitter !
