Sounders FC Travels to Philadelphia Union for Saturday Evening Matchup
March 8, 2024 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Seattle Sounders FC News Release
RENTON, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC embarks on its first Eastern Conference trip of the season as it takes on the Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park on Saturday, March 9 (4:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
The two sides have faced off 12 times in the regular season since the Union joined MLS in 2010, but have not met since 2019. Seattle holds a 4-5-3 record in those 12 contests. Seattle notably defeated Philadelphia in the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final.
Seattle is coming off its home opener last weekend that saw the club play to a 0-0 draw with Austin FC on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field. Philadelphia is coming off a draw of its own in its last MLS outing, a 1-1 contest with Sporting Kansas City that saw the Union score a late equalizer to leave Children's Mercy Park with a point.
Following Saturday's matchup, Seattle returns home for a matchup against the Colorado Rapids at Lumen Field on Saturday, March 16 (12:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, FOX, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
