January 13, 2012 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, are once again playing Cupid for Valentine's Day. Fans can have the Captains mascot, Skipper, deliver a special Valentine's Day package to their sweetheart as part of this annual program, in partnership with J.D. Ballantine's Flowers and Gifts in Mentor.
Fans that purchase the package will have Skipper deliver a box of one dozen roses to their sweetheart at their residence or workplace. The roses can also have a personalized message included on a card. In addition to the roses, a voucher for four Box Seat tickets to a 2012 Captains game will also be delivered to the recipient.
The cost of the package is only $60 and orders, limited to the first 25, will be taken until February 9. Orders will be delivered between 8 AM and 4:30 PM on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14. Deliveries will be available to recipients within a 25-mile radius east, west and south of Classic Park. Deliveries north of Classic Park onto Lake Erie will not be accepted due to Skipper's fear of deep icy water, which is the result of an ice fishing incident years ago. Fans can reserve their package on-line at CaptainsBaseball.com or by calling Jen Yorko at the Captains office at 440-975-8085 ext 116.
J.D. Ballantine's Flower and Gifts are located at 8324 Mentor Avenue in Mentor. J.D. Ballantine's is family-owned and operated since 1987 and specializes in both European and contemporary floral designs. The florist also features a large selection of balloon bouquets, plush animals, green and blooming plant baskets, as well as gourmet, fruit and cheese baskets. Wine or Beers of the World are also available.
The Captains home opener is April 12 at 6:30 PM as the Captains welcome the Bowling Green Hot Rods, an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, to Classic Park.
Full season tickets plans, 7-, 12-, 20-, and 35-game mini ticket plans for the 2012 season are on sale now at great prices complete with several exclusive benefits. Information can be found at the Captains website www.captainsbaseball.com.
