(WINDSOR, ON) - The Windsor Express revamped the entire dance team starting with the recruitment of Siena Browning-Morgan to choreograph dances for the 2013-2014 season.
Dartis Willis, President and CEO said, "Bottom line, we listen to our fans. They said they wanted a higher level of dance we went out and got it for them. Siena came highly recommended. Initially, I was impressed by her resume but, when I saw her in action, I thought 'Now, this is what Windsor deserves.'"
After 3 auditions, Siena was chosen out of 2 other candidates. When informed of the decision, Siena responded, "I am stoked to be the head choreographer of The Windsor Express Dance Team this year! I have a unique style and an excellent team to show it off."
Bio:
Siena Browning-Morgan was born in Windsor, Ontario and is a passionate, aspiring dancer and choreographer. Siena is currently an undergraduate Dance and Nutrition Major student at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where she studies Modern, Ballet and African dance, STOTT Pilates and Nutrition and Health courses under the direction of a highly talented and respected faculty. She was also a member of To Sangana --- Wayne State's African Dance Company this past year.
She began dancing at J&L Dance Force at the age of six and she's loved it ever since. Since then, Siena has studied Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Contemporary and Pointe at Edmunds Towers School of Dance in Windsor, Ontario. Siena is also a graduate of Walkerville's Centre for the Creative Arts, where she obtained a Specialist High Skills Major in Dance, and a Dance Merit Award for her outstanding achievements throughout her four years within that program. Throughout secondary school, Siena performed in a variety of community events. Siena also had wonderful performance opportunities through Walkerville's Dance Program. Siena also heightened her dance education by attending several dance conventions in the Toronto, Windsor and Detroit areas.
In her spare time, Siena enjoys improvising as she believes that it is one of the most freeing aspects of dance. As a dancer and choreographer, Siena feels that she is always learning. Siena learns more about herself each day as an artist, and she is slowly beginning to recognize her goals and career aspirations. Presently, Siena is a guest alumni dance teacher at her secondary school, Walkerville Collegiate Institute. She also guest teaches and choreographs for local organization; Windsor Dance eXperience, and works occasionally in Chatham, Ontario at Erin's Dance Club as a competitive team choreographer and Summer workshop leader. Siena also teaches regularly at Windsor Women Working with Immigrant Women as part of the Newcomer Art Project.
This summer, Siena travelled to New York City to attend The Pulse Summer Intensive, where she studied under the leading names in the industry: Brian Friedman, Tyce Diorio, Desmond Richardson, Ian Eastwood, Tricia Miranda to name a few.
