Santa Cruz Warriors News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Santa Cruz Warriors (4-4) fell to the Texas Legends (4-3) tonight at the Comerica Center in Frisco, 113-107.
Santa Cruz Warriors center Deyonta Davis logged 18 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in 25 minutes tonight. Guard Jeremy Pargo scored 17 points and dished a game-high 14 assists while guard Andrew Harrison scored a team-high 20 points, his second 20-point night off the bench this season.
The Legends were led by reserve guard Trahson Burrell, who had a season-high 23 points to go with six rebounds. Reserve center Aric Holman established new season-highs of 18 points, with four made three pointers, and 11 rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench. Center Chad Brown also logged a new season-high with 17 rebounds tonight in just 23 minutes.
Despite falling behind by ten points early in the matchup, Harrison's made three-pointer at the end of the first quarter gave Santa Cruz their first lead of the night, 28-27. The two teams battled to a 56-56 tie at halftime, with Burrell scoring 10 points while Davis poured in a season-high eight second quarter points for the Sea Dubs.
The Legends took the lead in the third quarter thanks to 15 combined points by Burrell (8) and Holman (7), despite Warriors guard Nick Zeisloft hitting three triples in one stretch. A late 9-2 Warriors run brought the game to a 105-105 tie with 2:39 remaining, but an 8-2 Legends run that started with two-way guard Antonius Cleveland's putback layup and ended with three Nate Mason free throws finalized the Texas victory.
The Warriors will now return to Northern California to host a Black Friday game against the Iowa Wolves at Kaiser Permanente Arena on Friday, November 29.
