
Renegades Mourn the Loss of Joe Killens

ROME, Ga. - The Rome Renegades lost a teammate and a family member late Thursday night when DL/FB Joe Killins collapsed and was unable to be revived in Birmingham, AL. Killins , who was 25, was a team leader last year and played a big part in helping the Renegades reach the NIFL Championship game.
"We are extremely shocked and devastated at the loss of Joe, he was a valued member of the Renegades family" said Head Coach David Humphreys.
Killins played both offense and defense for the Renegades in 2005, where he had 52 ½ tackles, 3 sacks and an interception and scored 4 rushing touchdowns on offense. Killins went to Miles College in Birmingham, AL, where he was a three year captain, three year All-SIAC performer, and was a two time team MVP. Joe is from Birmingham, where he went to Jackson-Olin High School.
"The Renegades will be keeping Joe's family in their thoughts and prayers", added Humphreys.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced at this time.
