GARY, Ind. - At a joint press conference Friday afternoon, the Gary SouthShore RailCats and CN railway detailed Northwest Indiana's participation in the CN Community Ticket Program with CN purchasing 1,000 tickets to upcoming 'Cats games which will be distributed to Northwest Indiana charitable organizations.

"We are humbled by the generous donation from CN railway and are ecstatic to be able to assist them in giving back to our community," RailCats President and General Manager Andy Viano said. "We look forward to a continued partnership and to involving community groups like the Boys & Girls Clubs, Sojourner Truth House and so many others in making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate through RailCats baseball."

The CN Community Ticket Program is a way to thank local charities and community organizations that make their city a better place to live and work. In locations where CN has a significant number of employees and customer base, the railway provides complimentary hockey and baseball tickets to non-profit organizations and other community services. A total of 25 teams throughout CN territory in Canada and the United States have joined the popular program.

"CN is pleased to partner with the RailCats and help fans across Northwest Indiana enjoy baseball right here in Gary," said CN railway Public Affairs U.S. Manager Patrick Waldron.

The partnership with CN railway is another opportunity for the RailCats to make a positive impact in Gary and throughout Northwest Indiana. From the countless fundraisers at the games themselves, to the efforts of the Homefield Advantage Foundation the RailCats are committed to giving back. The RailCats have made an annual event of their Thanksgiving turkey giveaway through the generosity of Owner/CEO Pat Salvi and Rusty's annual hospital visits never fails to bring smiles to faces during the holiday season.
