
Portland Thorns FC Announce 2024 NWSL Preseason Roster

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC have announced its 2024 preseason roster as the team begins training camp. The Thorns will begin preseason in Tucson, Arizona, returning to Portland, Oregon on February 2. The team will also spend time in Southern California, participating for the second-consecutive year in the Coachella Valley Invitational in Palm Springs, California. Thorns FC preseason is presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky.
Portland will begin the preseason with 29 players, 18 of which return to the Rose City from last year's squad, including Olympic Gold medalists Sam Coffey and Sophia Smith, as well as internationals Mackenzie Arnold, Jessie Fleming, Marie Müller and Isabella Obaze, all of whom are entering into their second year with the Club
In addition to returning players, the Club has added several new faces, including recently announced forward Deyna Castellanos, as well as defenders Daiane, Sam Hiatt and Jayden Perry. United States U-20 Youth National Team standout Pietra Tordin also joined the team this offseason following an impressive run at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
The Thorns are set to begin the 2025 season at Kansas City Current on Saturday, March 15 before returning to Providence Park for their home opener against Angel City on Friday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
