June 7, 2023 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Youngstown Phantoms News Release
YOUNGSTOWN, OH - The Clark Cup Champion Youngstown Phantoms, in conjunction with the United State Hockey League, are proud to announce the schedule for the 2023-2024 season, their fifteenth as a member of the USHL.
The schedule features 62 games and a return to interconference play for the first time since the 2019-2020 season. The season kicks off with the USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Twp., Pennsylvania in late September with dates, times, and opponents to be released in July.
Youngstown's home slate opens on Saturday September 30 when the Phantoms will host Team USA at the Covelli Centre. Youngstown will play three straight at home after the Fall Classic before heading on the road for the first time in the campaign.
The Phantoms will have a five-game homestand from October 21-November 4, immediately followed by a four- game road trip that will see the Phantoms return home for a Black Friday game against Team USA before heading east for the Wegman's American Cup for the third straight season. Youngstown will have a different opponent in Rochester this time around, as the Muskegon Lumberjacks will make the trip to western New York to battle the Phantoms at Bill Grey's Regional Iceplex. Youngstown's last home game before the Christmas break is the front end of a home-and-home with Team USA on December 15.
Youngstown will return from the holiday break with a pair of games against Muskegon in Michigan on December 29-30 before ringing in the new year against Omaha on January 5-6 as the Lancers return to the Covelli Centre for the first time since February 2018. The Phantoms will only have five home games from January 1-February 17, but beginning on February 23 Youngstown will open a season-high eight-game homestand. This homestand will also feature a special 10:05am puck drop against the Waterloo Black Hawks on February 29 as Youngstown hosts their annual School Day Game. The Phantoms won't have to get on a bus again until March 16, when they'll head to Sioux City to take on the Musketeers.
After the trip to Sioux City and a Clark Cup Final-rematch the next weekend in Fargo, the Phantoms will have six of their last seven games at the Covelli Centre, wrapping up the regular season on April 13 against Team USA.
The schedule, while published, is subject to change due to severe weather and arena availability. You can visit the USHL website to view the schedule in its entirety by visiting https://ushl.com/ht/#/schedule/24/82/all-months/homeaway?league=1&gametype=-1
