Wheeling Nailers 25th Season Logo

WHEELING, WV - Today the Wheeling Nailers unveiled a logo to celebrate their 25th Season. The logo will be worn as a patch on the Nailers' uniforms next season; it will be used to highlight the many events that are planned for the 25th Season.
"25 years is a huge accomplishment for our organization, as we become the first team to reach that milestone in what will be the 29-year history of the ECHL," said Wheeling Nailers Radio Broadcaster DJ Abisalih. "The 25th Season logo is a tremendous representation of our past and present, and I know that our fans will enjoy the exciting events that we have planned to celebrate this special occasion."
A few of the many activities planned for the off-season and next season are: fan voting for the 25th Season team, former team members returning to the WesBanco arena, 25th Season prize giveaways, season ticket members summer event, special 25th Season Jersey, and many more events.
The first professional hockey game was played in Wheeling on October 18, 1992, when the Wheeling Thunderbirds beat the Dayton Bombers by a score of 9-3.
The expansion of WesBanco Arena remains on schedule with a completion target date of late June 2016. "Our local architects, contractors and local craftsmen have done an outstanding job keeping this project on time," commented Andy McKenzie, Mayor of Wheeling. "This expansion will be a great addition to our downtown along with the many other great projects that are in the works."
