
Mad Ants Record Largest Comeback Victory in NBA G League History against Canton

Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants defeated the Canton Charge, 124-118, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Saturday night. The Mad Ants erased a 35-point second-half lead, which set a new NBA G League record for the largest deficit overcome by a team in a victory.
Canton (20-11) led Fort Wayne, 79-44, with 10:53 remaining in the third quarter before Fort Wayne began the comeback effort to rewrite the G League history books.
The Mad Ants (14-15) used a 42-point third quarter to cut the Charge lead to 17 heading into the final quarter.
Heading into the final 12-minute frame, Daxter Miles Jr. scored only eight points on 2-of-7 shooting. To complete the comeback, Miles Jr. ended the night with a game-high 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting and a 3-of-5 clip from beyond the arc.
Fort Wayne outscored Canton 82-46 in the second half, good for the third most points scored in a half in franchise history.
Walt Lemon Jr. ended the historic night with 28 points, moving him into third all-time in scoring in franchise history behind Stephan Hicks and Ron Howard.
Alize Johnson, who was assigned by Indiana Pacers to Fort Wayne this morning, tallied his eighth double-double performance with the Mad Ants this season. Johnson ended with 19 points and 19 rebounds in 35 minutes of action.
For Canton, Tyler Cook led all Charge scorers with 28 points. Sheldon Mac came off the bench to finish with 27 points on 13-of-16 shooting.
The Mad Ants raised $1,530 on Saturday night in a jersey auction with proceeds benefitting Special Olympics of Northeast Indiana.
Fort Wayne returns to action for a Money Monday, presented by 3Rivers Federal Credit Union, to host Raptors 905 at 7 p.m.
Canton will head to Maine on Thursday night.
