Lightning Release 2023 Season Schedule

(London, ON) - The 2022 NBL Canada Champions, the London Lightning, announced today its 2023 season schedule as the team looks to defend its title. This year's schedule features a total of 30 games, including 16 home games at the Budweiser Gardens and 14 games on the road.

For the second consecutive season, the Lightning will play US-based opponents as part of the National Basketball League of Canada's 10-year partnership with The Basketball League. This season's opponents will include the Newfoundland Rogues (St. John's, NFLD), the Kokomo Bobcats (Kokomo, IN), Jamestown Jackals (Jamestown, NY), Glass City Wranglers (Toledo, OH) and the Syracuse Stallions (Syracuse, NY).

The Lightning will open the 2023 season at home Thursday, Jan. 19th against the Sudbury Five.

This season's opener will consist of a ring ceremony to celebrate the 2022 NBL Canada Champions. The Lightning will be presented with their championship rings, while also witnessing the unveiling of the fifth championship banner in team history.

London will face their first TBL opponent Jan. 25th as they head to St. John's, Newfoundland to take on the Rogues, playing three games in four nights at the Mile One Centre. Lightning fans will get their first look at TBL competition when the Rogues visit the Budweiser Gardens on February 11th.

The first rematch of last season's NBL Canada Finals takes place in March as the Lightning head to Kitchener to face the Titans in back-to-back games on the 4th and 12that the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

The Lightning will host 13 weekend games and 17 weekday games; a total of one Monday game, one Tuesday game, seven Wednesday games, five Thursday games, three Friday games, eight Saturday games, and five Sunday games.

Season and Single game tickets for the 2023 season will be available shortly. Purchase will be available both online at www.budweisergardens.com or in-person at the Budweiser Gardens box-office.
