
Legends Announce Brian Young as Head Coach

Canton Legends News Release
The Canton Legends of the Atlantic Indoor Football League announce that Brian Young has become the team's new Head Coach. Young comes to the Legends after concluding his ninth year coaching at various levels, most recently as the defensive coordinator for the Grand Rapids Rampage of the AFL, prior to that Young served as the secondary and defensive backs coach with the Rampage. In 2004, Young was the secondary and special teams coach with Louisiana College in Pineville. During the season, he took a tenth-ranked defensive backfield to second in the American Southwest Conference, and ranked fourth in the nation in pass breakups.
Young has also spent time with the Georgia Force serving as the assistant defensive coordinator and secondary coach during 2001-2002 season. While with the Force, he contributed to the team's strength and conditioning program, player personnel, and made additions to the game plan. He also has coaching experience with the Greenville Riverhawks of the National Indoor League, and the af2 Pensacola Barracudas as the defensive coordinator while assisting in player personnel. Additionally, Young has coached at the high school level, notably with Southwest high school of Macon, Georgia, as the defensive coordinator, coaching the team to a state-championship
As a player, Young led the IFL in interceptions (six) while as a member of the Duluth Lumberjacks. He also spent time with the New England Patriots after a stellar three-year college career at Georgia Southern.
