Saginaw Spirit News Release
Saginaw, Mich. - In conjunction with the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), the Saginaw Spirit are pleased to announce their schedule for the 2023-2024 regular season.
Saginaw begins the season in Kitchener on September 29th with a 7:00pm puck drop against the Rangers. The next night, the Spirit open the home portion of their schedule with the Sarnia Sting at 7:05pm.
Schedule Breakdown
The Spirit will play a 68-game schedule in 2023-2024, 34 at the Dow Event Center and 34 on the road. They will see West Division foes 30 times during the season, evenly split between home and road buildings. Eight games apiece come against Flint, Sault Ste. Marie, and Windsor, while the Spirit tangle with Sarnia six times.
Also within the Western Conference, the Spirit will see Midwest Division opponents 18 times (nine home, nine road). Saginaw will meet Erie, Guelph, Kitchener and London four times each, along with two games against the Owen Sound Attack. The schedule rounds out with 20 games against Eastern Conference opponents, one home and one road game against each of the 10 teams.
Saginaw will find themselves at the Dow Event Center on 16 Saturday nights during the regular season, their most frequent home night of the week. Along with 7 road Saturdays, it will be Saginaw's most frequent single night of the year at 23 total Saturday games. Friday becomes the Spirit's most popular single road day, with 12 of 34 road games coming on Friday nights.
The Coors Light I-75 Divide Cup will once again feature eight installments split evenly between the Dow Event Center and Dort Financial Center in Flint, Mich. Saginaw looks to retain the trophy after reclaiming it from the Firebirds, five games to three. The first Saginaw-Flint matchup of the 2023-2024 season comes on October 11th at 7:05pm from the Dow Event Center.
Other notable dates include January 6th at 7:05pm when the Spirit host the reigning OHL champion Peterborough Petes, and March 1st when they visit the Bulldogs for the first time at their new home in Brantford.
Single game tickets for the 2023-2024 season will go on sale August 14th. Stay tuned to saginawspirit.com for updates all summer long, or follow the team on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
