Grand Rapids Gold Announce 2021 Open Tryouts

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Grand Rapids Gold, the NBA G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, will host two open tryouts ahead of the 2021-22 NBA G League season. The Grand Rapids tryout will be held on September 18 at MSA Woodland. The Denver tryout will be held on September 19 at the University of Denver. Members of the Nuggets coaching and personnel staff will be present at both events to structure the tryout and evaluate each player.

Local player tryouts are a unique feature in the NBA G League. Players participate for an invitation to the Grand Rapids Gold's training camp in October. Up to four players are invited.
Players who wish to attend must meet all NBA G League player requirements and complete all steps of the registration process located here prior to arriving at their tryout. This includes showing proof of full COVID-19 vaccination in the online application that will be reviewed by the Gold organization. All completed forms, including proof of vaccination, must be received by the Gold by the September 15th deadline to participate in this year's tryouts. Walkups will not be accepted.
"Our team is excited to offer this unique feature to players in both Grand Rapids and Denver," said Steve Jbara, president of the Grand Rapids Gold. "We're looking for team members who will win games for the people of Grand Rapids while developing into championship pieces for the Denver Nuggets."
Registration for both tryouts will open today, August 24, and will be capped at 100 participants each. A non-refundable registration fee of $150 must be paid in order to attend.
