(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - - The State College Spikes return home on Wednesday, August 27 to begin the final regular-season homestand of the 2014 season. The four-game stretch includes the Coach James Franklin Bobblehead Giveaway, a pair of fantastic FIREWORKS shows and Fan Appreciation Night during the home finale of the regular season on Saturday, August 30.
The Spikes will host the Williamsport Crosscutters and Batavia Muckdogs for a pair of games each during the homestand. Fans can also join "The Hunt for It All, " presented by the Central Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau, Lion Country Kia and HRI, Inc., as the Pinckney Division champion Spikes have the New York-Penn League playoffs in their sights.
The Coach Franklin bobble will go to the first 1,000 fans of all ages on Thursday, August 28, when the Spikes face the Crosscutters at 7:05 p.m. Gates will open to season ticket holders at 5:45 p.m., to groups at 5:50 p.m., and to the public at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, two days before the Nittany Lions begin their season in Ireland. The bobblehead is presented by The Nittany Lion Inn & The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel and ESPN Radio 1450.
Thursday also marks the final $1 Beer Night of the regular season, presented by 93.7 THE BUS. Fans aged 21 and over can enjoy 12-oz. select domestic draft beers for just $1 apiece from 6-8 p.m., and all fans can dig in to great wing specials throughout the night. After the game, the skies will light up with FIREWORKS, presented by Susquehanna Bank and ESPN Radio 1450, on THON Night at the ballpark.
The homestand begins on Wednesday, when the Spikes and Crosscutters meet at 7:05 p.m. for Half-Price Wednesday, presented by BIG Froggy 101. Fans can get into the park with half-price Outfield Bleacher seats for $3 each, then enjoy half-price 16-oz. select domestic draft beers from 6-8 p.m. and half-price medium sodas all game long.
Wednesday also features a Skooter Giveaway for one lucky fan, presented by Campus Skooters, and three college students will win FREE books thanks to the Student Book Store.
Friday night, the Muckdogs come to town for a 7:05 p.m. game. Gates will open to the public at 6:00 p.m., and the first 1,000 fans of all ages will receive a Clear Plastic Stadium Bag Giveaway, presented by Penn State Sports Medicine.
The regular season home slate finishes on Saturday night with Fan Appreciation Night, featuring great prize giveaways throughout the 7:05 p.m. game against Batavia. Fans will also be amazed by an EXTENDED FIREWORKS show after the game.
In addition, college students across Central PA can enjoy even more value all four nights with the College 3-2-1 Special. The College 3-2-1 Special offers any college student presenting a valid student ID at ticket and concessions windows the following special offers:
- $3 Outfield Bleacher seats or $3 off seat in any other ballpark section, excluding Pepsi Picnic Pavilion and suites
- $2 medium sodas all game
- $1 hot dogs all game
