Four Dazzle players join NBA training camps

Roanoke, Va. October 6 ? Continuing to follow their dream of landing a spot on an NBA roster, four former Roanoke Dazzle players have earned the opportunity to participate in 2004 NBA training camps. Of the 52 former NBDL players in vet camps, former Dazzle players participating include: Mikki Moore (Los Angeles Clippers), Matt Carroll (Golden State Warriors), Marque Perry (San Antonio Spurs) and Terrence Shannon (Detroit Pistons).

- Moore spent the latter half of last season with the Utah Jazz and has signed a multi-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. Moore has spent two seasons in the NBDL, with NBA call-ups to the Utah Jazz (twice) New Jersey Nets and Atlanta Hawks.

- Carroll, a former Dazzle guard, was called up to the San Antonio Spurs last season. Carroll now looks to the Golden State Warriors with hopes of joining the roster for the 2004-05 NBA season.

- Perry earned a spot on the All-NBDL First Team for the 2003-04 season. Along with that honor, Perry notched a season-high, single-game scoring performance by pouring in 40 points versus the Huntsville Flight, and was named NBDL Player of the Month for February 2004. Perry, a 6-1 point guard, joins the San Antonio Spurs for this season?s NBA training camp.

- Shannon has spent two seasons as a Roanoke Dazzle forward, averaging 14.7 points and 5.6 rebounds in 50 regular season games. Shannon participated in summer league play with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2002. Shannon will look to win a roster spot with the Detroit Pistons for the 2004-05 NBA season.
