FC Cincinnati Announce Phase One Schedule Updates
August 17, 2020 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati will now play Chicago Fire FC at Nippert Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2. The change was announced by the clubs on Monday morning.
The game was originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday, Sept. 1, but has now been adjusted.
In addition to the date change, the first three home matches of FC Cincinnati's 2020 regular-season schedule will be played without fans in attendance. Additional information regarding the possibility of fans at matches beyond phase one will be provided at a later date.
"In an effort to ensure the safety of our players, coaches, club staff and fans, we have made the decision to hold our first three matches at Nippert Stadium without fans in attendance," FC Cincinnati President Jeff Berding said. "This decision was not made lightly, but we feel it is the most prudent action to take. We look forward to welcoming the best supporters in MLS back for a home match when we are safely able to do so."
For the second year in a row, all FC Cincinnati matches not televised nationally will be carried regionally on WSTR Star 64 and on the radio on WDJO. All locally televised matches will be streamed at fccincinnati.com/stream throughout the club's designated regional broadcast territory.
