Houston Aeros News Release

Houston, TX – The Minnesota Wild have traded defenseman Chris Dyment to the Phoenix Coyotes for defenseman Michael Schutte (SHOOT). Schutte will report to the American Hockey League's Houston Aeros, while Dyment will go to Springfield. In an additional move, the Aeros announced that they have reassigned defenseman Kevin Mitchell to ECHL Louisiana.

Schutte is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound native of Burlington, Ontario. Schutte has four points (2g, 2a) and 10 penalty minutes in 12 games with the Falcons this season. The 24-year-old Schutte split his rookie season in 2002-03 with Springfield and Lowell. He totaled 23 points (7g, 16a) and 35 PIM's in 61 games. Schutte played three collegiate campaigns with the University of Maine.

Dyment played in 13 of Houston's first 24 games, scoring one goal and recording 12 penalty minutes. Dyment, in his second year as a pro, posted five points (2g, 3a) and 64 PIM's in 40 games with Houston last season. Dyment, who was drafted in the fourth round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by Montreal, went to Boston University.

The 23-year-old Mitchell had notched three assists in 12 games with Houston this season, his third full pro campaign. The Bronx, N.Y., native is no stranger to Louisiana, having spent most of the past two seasons there. Mitchell is a two-time ECHL All-Star and has 97 career points (16g, 81a) and 274 penalty minutes in 168 pro games.

The Aeros visit Grand Rapids this Friday for a 6:30 p.m. matchup, then return home Saturday to face San Antonio at 7 p.m. Saturday is the Teddy Bear Toss, as the Aeros ask all fans to bring in a teddy bear or other stuffed animal to throw on the ice after the team's first goal.
