Dallas Jackals Leap into the 2024 Season with a New Roster, Dance Team, and Theme Nights

ARLINGTON, TEXAS - With the Major League Rugby season set to kick off this weekend, the Dallas Jackals are ready to give local and national fans exciting competition and family fun on and off the pitch. From a formidable roster of returning players, new traditions and fan-first promotions, the 2024 season has something for sports fans young and old.

Following the opening match this Sunday in Los Angeles, the team will return to Choctaw Stadium to face off against the San Diego Legion for a Texas-tough home opener on March 10, 2024. The former home of the Texas Rangers offers a nostalgic and up-close seat to the fast-paced action of Major League Rugby. "Having dreamed of being a professional rugby player growing up, I'm especially excited to start another season right here in my hometown," said Jason Tidwell, Wing. "Our roster consists of the toughest guys in the sport. We all play with a tremendous amount of grit, and I'm looking forward to a record-breaking season."

The Dallas Jackals welcome back Head Coach Augustin Cavalieri for his second season. Cavalieri joined the Jackals from the Italian Rugby Federation in 2022, where he served as the forward coach of the national men's u20 side. The 41-year-old, nicknamed 'Cuca,' is originally from Rosario in Argentina. The team also added several standout players, including Evan Conlon, Scrum Half, and three-time Texas All-State team, Manuel Covella, outside center, and Australian, Connor Winchester.

"The best phrase to describe the Dallas Jackals in 2024 is 'Texas Tough,'" said Co-Managing Partner John Dwyer. "First and foremost we are focused on giving our fans and supporters a winning season and meaningful Major League Rugby experience."

The Jackals are set to unveil several new traditions this season, including the Dallas Jackals Dancers. Each home match will also feature themed nights, such as Just Dance Night, Texas Strong Night, Late 1900s Night, Hispanic Heritage Night, Military Appreciation Night, and Fan Appreciation Night.
