
Columbus Crew Draws Tigres UANL, 1-1

COLUMBUS - The Crew earned a 1-1 draw against Tigres UANL Tuesday evening in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup Quarterfinals at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio.
The Black & Gold are unbeaten through their first three 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup matches.
With the draw, the Crew possess a 2-0-4 record in first legs of knockout round matches of the Concacaf Champions Cup.
Columbus has scored at least one goal in 22 of its past 23 matches across all competitions, netting 44 goals in the stretch.
Dating back to the 2023 season, the Black & Gold hold an overall unbeaten streak of 21 matches (16-0-5) across all competitions. Additionally, the Club has only lost one of their past 34 home matches in all competitions (23-1-10) since Aug. 2022.
With tonight's result, the Crew also extended their unbeaten streak to 10 home matches in Concacaf Champions Cup play (4-0-6), dating back to Sept. 2009.
Forward Diego Rossi leveled the scoring in the 43rd minute with his first goal of the 2024 season across all competitions.
Rossi registered his second goal against Tigres UANL. His first occurred with LAFC in the 2020 Concacaf Champions Cup Final on December 22, 2020.
Midfielder Aidan Morris recorded the assist to Rossi's score, his second assist of the season across all competitions.
The Crew face Tigres UANL in the second leg of the quarterfinals at Estadio Universitario on Tuesday, April 9 at 8:45 p.m. ET. Based on tonight's result, the Club can advance to the Concacaf Championship Cup Semifinals for the first time in franchise history with:
A Crew victory by any margin.
A draw with both teams scoring two or more goals.
In the event the match is tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, the contest will proceed to extra time and potentially penalty kicks.
With a Tigres UANL win or 0-0 draw, Tigres would advance to the next round.
