Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Chupacabras de Round Rock (39-29) secured the series win over the El Paso Margaritas (29-39) with a 7-4 victory at Dell Diamond on Saturday night. It is the club's first time being 10 games over .500 since May 7 when they held a 21-11 record.

Chupacabras reliever RHP Ryan Tepera (1-0, 0.00) earned a win after tossing one scoreless inning that saw two strikeouts. Margaritas starter RHP Angel Sanchez (0-2, 5.50) walked away with the loss after allowing six runs, three of which were earned, off of four hits, including RF Elier Hernandez' three-run home run. Round Rock RHP Marc Church grabbed a save with two shutout innings to close out the night.

Along the Train Tracks

El Paso saw the scoresheet after 2B Tim Lopes drew a walk and eventually scored on a wild pitch to put the visitors up 1-0 in the first frame.

Round Rock saw it all in the second after an error, single and walk loaded the bases. LF Sandro Fabian was hit by a pitch, which tied the game before a fielder's choice and error during C Miguel Ojeda's plate appearance saw 1B Blaine Crim and 3B Yoshi Tsutsugo score to give the Chupacabras a 3-1 advantage.

Round Rock put three more runs on the board in the third after a walk drawn by 2B Davis Wendzel and single from DH Brad Miller set RF Elier Hernandez up for a 394-foot bomb, good for the 6-1 lead.

The Margaritas had a three-run home run of their own to pull within two in the sixth inning when 3B Janzen Witte knocked in RF Jose Azocar and C Brett Sullivan after they had singled and doubled, respectively.

Wendzel smacked a solo shot to center to keep Round Rock up 7-4 in the seventh inning.
