Call-Ups, Return From Injuries Force Roster Shuffles
February 21, 2007 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
GREENVILLE, S.C., February 21, 2007 - In a flurry of activity to bring back players returning from injury and to fill spaces vacated by GATORADE Call-Ups following the NBA Development League All-Star Game, four teams made roster moves on Wednesday.
The Arkansas RimRockers reacquired guard Anthony Roberson (6-2, 180) and waived guard Jonathan Moore. Roberson played 30 minutes in one game for Arkansas after being acquired on January 25 and then released due to injury on February 1. He scored seven points. The University of Florida product has played in 36 career NBA games with Memphis and Golden State, including 20 with the Warriors this season, averaging 5.6 points and 1.1 rebounds in 11.4 minutes before being waived on January 5.
The Bakersfield Jam reacquired forward Brandon Bowman (6-9, 223) and released forward Shawn Daniels. Bowman, a Georgetown product, was waived to rehabilitate an injury in early February after playing in 26 games and averaging 11.4 points and 5.5 rebounds in 31.6 minutes.
The Colorado 14ers have acquired former Bakersfield guard Tony Bobbitt (6-4, 190) to fill the roster spot vacated when the Los Angeles Clippers signed guard Von Wafer to a 10-day contract today. Bobbitt played in 18 games and averaged 15.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists before being released by the Jam on February 5.
Former Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Colorado 14ers guard Julius Hodge (6-7, 210) has been acquired by the Idaho Stampede. Hodge fills the roster spot vacated by forward Jeff Graves, who left the team. The 20th overall selection in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets, Hodge was traded to Cleveland on January 11 and waived on February 7. He was assigned to the 14ers by Denver for nine games earlier this season, averaging 12.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 23.0 minutes. He also played in nine NBA games this season, averaging 1.7 points and 1.3 rebounds for both the Nuggets and Cavs.
The Los Angeles D-Fenders picked up center Nick Lewis (6-10, 240) and rookie guard Daniel Horton (6-3, 205). Lewis, a second-year pro from the University of San Diego, has been playing in Belgium for Passe Partout Groot Leuven, where he averaged 7.6 points and 3.0 rebounds. Horton, an undrafted rookie out of Michigan, played in one preseason game for the Miami HEAT this season and scored six points in 22 minutes against the New Orleans/Okla. City Hornets. An All-Big Ten performer and 2003 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Horton averaged 14.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 110 games for the Wolverines.
