BlueClaws Score Four in Sixth, Top Cyclones 6-3 for Sixth Straight Win

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - The BlueClaws topped Brooklyn 6-3 on Tuesday night, scoring four times in the sixth inning, to win their sixth straight game and ninth in their last 10.

Jersey Shore matched their longest winning streak of the season with six games, with their other coming in April. They have pulled to within four games of first place Brooklyn.

The BlueClaws jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning on an opposite field 2-run double from Gabriel Rincones Jr. He drove in Nick Ward and Marcus Lee Sang who each had singles to start the first inning.

After Brooklyn took the lead with three runs off Gabriel Cotto in the fifth inning, Jersey Shore exploded for four runs, all unearned, in the bottom of the sixth to re-claim the lead. Leandro Pineda tied the game with an RBI single. Andrick Nava added an RBI single to give the BlueClaws the lead. Wilfredo Flores' RBI single made it 5-3 and Erick Brito reached on the third error of the inning on which Nava scored.

Konnor Ash (2-0) earned the win with two scoreless innings. Jason Ruffcorn threw a scoreless eighth and Andrew Walling earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning.

Nick Ward, Leandro Pineda, and Andrick Nava all had two hits in the win for Jersey Shore.

Cotto gave up three runs in five innings and did not factor in the decision.

The teams continue their series on Wednesday at 12:05 pm. RHP Gunner Mayer starts for Jersey Shore.
