
Bennigan\'s Groundbreaking Ceremony at RailCats Stadium

Gary, IN â Mayor Scott L. King, the Gary Common Council and representatives from Bennigan's held a ground breaking ceremony at 10 a.m. today in the RailCats newly built multi-million dollar stadium. Bennigan's is a national casual theme restaurant that is scheduled to open in April 2003 and will operate in the right field area of the new baseball park in Gary.
"We are very pleased to be the first nationally recognized restaurant investing in the successful future of the City of Gary. We know that our own success will lead to other businesses investing in this area as well because success breeds success," said Larry Briski, Managing Partner of Shamrock Management Group.
The restaurant will include 14,000 square feet made up of dining areas, outdoor deck seating overlooking the ballpark, and banquet facilities to be used for corporate gatherings, parties, weddings and other community events. The facilities will serve the City of Gary and the Northwest Indiana region as well as over 30,000,000 people that travel on interstate 90 each year.
"Bennigan's will add another positive dimension to our stadium. It will be an asset and attraction to the City of Gary's downtown area," said Roger Wexelberg, Vice President/General Manager.
