(Erie, PA) - The Erie Explosion of the SIFL have announced the addition of NCAA record-setting wide receiver David Ball. Ball (6'1"-201) comes to the Explosion from the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League.

Ball, a four-year starter at New Hampshire, broke the NCAA Division IAA career touchdown record, previously held by Jerry Rice, with 58 career touchdown receptions. He also holds the school records at New Hampshire for total receiving yards and most career 100 yard games.

In 2007, the NFL's Chicago Bears signed Ball as an undrafted free agent and from 2007-2008 he gained NFL experience with the Bears and the New York Jets. Known for his tremendous hands and precise route running, Ball spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.

After signing with the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League in November 2010, Ball was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list until his activation to the active roster on March 24, 2011. Ball started for the Power in their inaugural game against the Tulsa Talons on April 2.

Ball is expected to bolster an already potent Erie passing game which is among the SIFL leaders in Total Passing Yards and Total Offense.
