PBL Welcomes New Team
September 15, 2010 - Premier Basketball League (PBL) News Release
(Chicago, IL)... The Premier Basketball League is pleased to announce that the Dayton Air Strikers have been accepted into the league for the upcoming 2011 season. The Air Strikers will be an expansion team for the upcoming season.
"We looked at several leagues and it was an easy decision to apply for membership into the PBL," said Anthony Byrd, President of the Dayton Air Strikers Sports Group LLC. "We feel that we will be competitive in our inaugural year due to the great talent in the Southwest Ohio area. "We our excited that we are able to bring professional basketball to the Dayton, Ohio region, creating quality sports entertainment for the community", stated Byrd. The team has also contracted a deal with WWRD-TV the local AT Sports TV Network affiliate to telecast the home games, throughout the season.
"With the addition of Dayton, we can continue our growth in the Midwest. " stated Premier Basketball League Chief Executive Officer Tony Chase. "We will have additional expansion announcements for the 2012 season and are getting ready to release our schedule for the upcoming season."
