Ducks Sign Miceli

(Central Islip, N.Y., April 10, 2009) - Long Island Ducks team officials today announced the signing of pitcher Dan Miceli. The right hander has spent time in the big leagues with 10 teams, most recently with Tampa Bay in 2006, where he went 1-2 with a 3.94 ERA in 33 games.
"Dan's got a strong arm and will be a significant part of our bullpen," says Ducks pitching coach Dave LaPoint. "We're looking forward to having him on our club."
The 38-year-old has 43 career big league victories and 39 saves in 700.2 innings pitched. His best season came in 1998 when he compiled a 10-5 record with a 3.22 ERA in 72.2 innings pitched for National League champion San Diego Padres. The Florida native started his professional career in the Royals organization and has accumulated 13 wins and 44 saves in 184 minor league contests.
The Ducks 2009 10th Anniversary Season opens on Thursday, April 23, in Southern Maryland, with the home opener taking place at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, May 1, at Citibank Park. Individual game tickets go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, at the Citibank Park Box Office.
