Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA (July 11, 2007)-Sgt. Slaughter, a four-time WWF World Champion wrestler will be a special featured guest of the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings this Saturday night during Fan Appreciation Night presented by The Times.
"The BattleWings have had a great season," Slaughter said recently. "I'm looking forward to coming to the Bossier-Shreveport area and seeing all my fans. With Barksdale Air Force Base there, it's always been a special place for a proud American like me."
Sgt. Slaughter will be on hand to meet and greet fans as they enter the arena Saturday night and will participate in the post-game autograph session. The former world champion, known for his finishing move The Cobra Clutch, has been a favorite of wrestling fans world-wide for more than 20-years.
"From what I've heard, 'Sarge' is in pretty good shape," said BattleWings' Head Coach Jon Norris. "I've already told the front office I'm not getting into any grudge match with him at half time. Now, I may send Coach (Jon) Lyles in my place, though."
The BattleWings (10-3) host division rival Rio Grande Valley Dorados in their final regular season home game Saturday at The CenturyTel Center at 7:00 PM. Tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster locations, ticketmaster.com or fans can charge by phone at 318-741-9700.
