
Jam snap skid with victory over Dakota

Bakersfield, CA Feb. 11 - The Bakersfield Jam were able to kick off their home stand in a big way Sunday night with a 97 - 86 victory over the Dakota Wizards in Bakersfield before a crowd of 1,789. With this victory, the Jam snapped a 9 game losing streak. Bakersfield was led by Scooter McFadgon who finished the game with 23 points.
Through the entire first half the momentum was continually shifting. However, with Scooter McFadgon's game tying half court shot to beat the buzzer at the half, the tied turned in favor of Bakersfield. The Jam were able to have a very strong third quarter, and went into the fourth with an 8 point lead. Bakersfield was able to keep the momentum going as it picked up the victory.
"I was really happy we were able to give our fans something to cheer about tonight," said Jam coach Jim Harrick. "Our new guys got acclimated a little bit more, and it showed." "O'Bryant was dominating on the boards, and showed why he was the number 9 pick in the 2006 draft."
Sunday's victory improved the Jam to a record of 8 - 22. Patrick O'Bryant came up huge for the Jam as he put up 13 points while pulling down 19 rebounds. Kevinn Pinkney, Bakersfield's All-Star selection, added 19 points.
The Wizards were led by Kevin Lyde's 18 points and 9 rebounds. Quemont Greer added 13 points and 13 rebounds as well.
The Jam and Thunderbirds will face off again Tuesday February 13th in Bakersfield.
