Chiefs Sign Pittsburgh Native

Johnstown, PA (September 13, 2005) - Johnstown Chiefs Executive Vice-President and General Manager Toby O'Brien announced today, that they have signed forward J.B. Bittner.

"J.B. was high on our recruiting list this summer. He has a ton of speed and some scoring touch. He will be a nice addition to our team," said O'Brien.

Bittner, 23, a native of Pittsburgh, P.A., spent the last four seasons at The Ohio State University where he was their captain in his junior and senior seasons. Last season, in 42 games with the Buckeyes, he had 10 goals and 24 points. At the conclusion of last season, he joined the ECHL's Dayton Bombers, playing in six games, scoring a goal and an assist. In 160 career games with Ohio State, the 5'11, 181 LBS Bittner had 37 goals and 76 points.

Prior to attending Ohio State, Bittner played two seasons in the USHL with the Sioux Falls Stampede. He played high school hockey in Pittsburgh with Seton-La Salle where he starred in hockey and lacrosse, winning the state hockey championship in 1998.
