USBL Honors All-USBL Teams
July 6, 2004 - United States Basketball League (USBL) News Release
MILFORD, CT - The United States Basketball League, Inc. (USBL) announced the recipients of its Annual All-Team honors today. "The League of Opportunity" has four All-USBL Teams: All-USBL First Team, All-USBL Second Team, USBL All-Rookie Team, and USBL All-Defensive Team. In order to be a candidate for the Post-Season Awards, a player must have competed in a minimum of (15) regular-season games, except for rookies, which require (10) games. The Post-Season Awards do not factor in Post-Season play.
The USBL Title in 2004 was truly up for grabs as each team loaded their team with talent in a quest to capture the Championship. Many players turned in unbelievable performances and there are many deserving award-winners. On the page that follows, please find a list of the All-USBL Team members.
The USBL has just completed its 19th season of play with the Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs defeating their divisional rival Brooklyn Kings 118-116 to capture their second USBL Title in four years. ValleyDawgs Head Coach Darryl Dawkins was one of five former NBA superstars that patrolled the coaching sidelines this season in the USBL.
"This season has been one of the best ever in USBL history," stated USBL Founder and Commissioner Daniel T. Meisenheimer III. "The talent level was amazing and we had some unbelievable performances on the court. Invitations to NBA camps are beginning to pour in for our player, which goes to show the level of talent we had this season. The USBL has already received inquiries from interested parties for next season in the way of expansion and we look forward to seeing what the possibilities are. I would like to thank all the fans, sponsors, teams, and staff for making this season a resounding success and we look forward to next season where we will continue to showcase all the USBL is, 'The League of Opportunity'."
