USBL Hands Out Post-Season Awards

July 2, 2003 - United States Basketball League (USBL) News Release

MILFORD, CT – The United States Basketball League, Inc. (USBL) announced the recipients of its Annual All-Team honors today. "The League of Opportunity" has four All-USBL Teams: All-USBL First Team, All-USBL Second Team, USBL All-Rookie Team, and USBL All-Defensive Team. In order to be a candidate for the Post-Season Awards, a player must have competed in a minimum of (15) regular-season games. The Post-Season Awards do not factor in Post-Season play.

The USBL Title in 2003 was truly up for grabs as each team loaded their team with talent in a quest to capture the Championship. Many players turned in unbelievable performances and there are many deserving award-winners. On the pages that follow, please find a list of the All-USBL-Team members.

The USBL just completed its 18th season of play when the Dodge City Legend defeated the Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs 97-96 in overtime to capture their second USBL Title in four years. USBL Coach of the Year and Legend Head Coach Cliff Levingston was one of six former NBA superstars that patrolled the coaching sidelines this season in the USBL.

"This season has been one of the best ever in USBL history," stated USBL Founder and Commissioner Daniel T. Meisenheimer III. "The USBL saw great fan interest all season long. The talent level was amazing and we had some unbelievable performances on the court. Invitations to NBA camps are beginning to pour in for our players, which goes to show the level of talent we had this season. The USBL has already received inquiries from interested parties for next season in the way of expansion and we look forward to seeing what the possibilities are. We hope the addition of Cedar Rapids will be the starting point in expansion for next season. I would like to thank all the fans, sponsors, teams, and staff for making this season a resounding success and we look forward to next season where we will continue to showcase all the USBL is, ‘The League of Opportunity'."
