Two Pitchers and Two Outfielders Sign with Sweets
April 24, 2024 - WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Four more players join the Sweets with the signing of two pitchers and two outfielders. Pitchers Daiki Mizuniwa and Jace Wessels and outfielder Christopher Ricard are all new to the Sweets, while outfielder Davis Mauzy will play his second season at Borleske Stadium. Wessels is a right-handed pitcher from Clarkston, Washington, currently playing for the Bellevue Bruins. April 17, 2024 - WALLA WALLA, Wash. - - Three players committed to Big Ten teams in 2024 are set to join the Sweets this summer. Washington's Easton O'Neal and UCLA's David Mysza and Rex Solle are all excited to make the trip to Walla Walla before heading to their DI campuses. O'Neal is a catcher from Spokane and committed to the Washington Huskies. He will graduate from West Valley High School this year. April 16, 2024 - VICTORIA, B.C. - An already strong coaching staff under WCL Coach of the Year Todd Haney just got stronger with the addition of Trovin Valdez, a former pro who made it to AAA in the Montreal Expos system. Valdez, 50, was the personal hitting coach of Manny Ramirez during much of his record-setting MLB career and now works extensively with his sons Manny Jr. and Lucas, who have joined the HarbourCats for the 2024 WCL season. Eric Aguayo, Alec Bressler and Jesiah Zamora all hail from the California State University of San Bernardino and are looking to continue what they have done this spring into the summer season.
