College Baseball: Week 4 Recap

Collin Duffley has been staying strong for UMass Lowell and the St. Johns Red Storm are ranked in the top 20.

Host Families Needed

The Silver Knights are currently seeking host families for the 2017 season. If you are interested in hosting a college baseball player in your house from Memorial Day until the middle of August, please contact the Silver Knights office at 603-718-8883 or email us at info@nashuasilverknights.com!

Erik Ostberg #2 in Batting Average for NCAA Division 1

2015 Silver Knight Erik Ostberg is off to a tremendous start for the Hartford Hawks in 2017. The junior catcher is batting an unworldly .537 (good for 2nd in the country) with 22 hits in 10 games. He has collected a hit in each of the teams games so far this season.

In the summer of 2015, Ostberg finished 3rd in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England with a .349 batting average.

Merrimack's Mickey Gasper Keeps Crushing Baseballs

There are no doubts about it, Mickey Gasper is excelling at the plate. His string of success hasn't just been limited to his play for the Silver Knights or at Bryant University.

Over the past 365 days, Gasper is 114-285 when he gets in the batters box. That is an astounding .400 batting average which includes the latter part of the 2016 college season, 2016 Silver Knights season and the first four weeks of the 2017 college baseball season.

Look for his success to continue and for his name to be called come this years MLB Draft.

Brian Scalabrine Celebrity Appearance

Former Celtics and NBA favorite, Brian "The White Mamba" Scalabrine will be joining the Silver Knights for the second year in a row this coming season.

Scal will be Holman Stadium on Thursday, July 13th as we host the North Shore Navigators at 7:05pm.

Tickets for this game will go on sale on April 10th.

Commemorative Banners to be Hung at Stadium

This Silver Knights are happy to be working on a project with City Arts Nashua to hang banners of Don Newcombe and Roy Campanella at the front of Holman Stadium.

Campanella and Newcombe both played for the Nashua Dodgers and are known as the first African Americans to play professional baseball in the USA.
