Indy Fuel News Release

EVANSVILLE, IN - In the sixth of ten head-to-head meetings between the two teams this season, the Indy Fuel came from behind to defeat the Evansville IceMen in overtime on Sunday at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana by a final score of 2-1. With the win, the Fuel's sixth straight victory and seventh in the team's past eight games, Indy improved to 13-21-4-3 overall this season and with 33 points, remain alone in sixth place in the ECHL's North Division standings.

After a scoreless first period, Evansville grabbed a 1-0 lead at 13:43 of the middle frame when Mark Anthoine wedged an even-strength right-post offering through Fuel goaltender Shane Owen for the rookie forward's second goal of the season. After a perseverant effort throughout the majority of a scoreless third, the Fuel were finally able to scratch across an equalizer at 17:28 as Garett Bembridge tipped a left-point blast from Dillon Fournier past IceMen netminder Scott Greenham to force overtime.

After a Mike Duco transition wrist shot, Kyle Stroh spirited home his fourth goal in his past two appearances just 32 seconds into the extra session to deliver Indy a 2-1 victory, the Fuel's first in overtime this season, and extend the team's season-long point streak to eight games. Owen was stellar in net, posting a 30-save performance in victory while Greenham took the loss between the pipes for Evansville despite 23 saves.
