Today's Game-- The RedHawks shoot for a third straight win as they continue their series against Tucson at 2:05 p.m. In honor of Mother's Day, today is "Pampering at the Park", presented by Gildan.

Last Night-- Paul Clemens fired seven scoreless innings and the RedHawks got out to a 6-0 lead before hanging on for a 6-5 victory over Tucson in front of a season-best 9,418 fans in attendance. Coming off his two previous starts in which he allowed a combined 15 runs and 20 hits, Clemens (3-3) was magnificent, going a season-high seven innings. He allowed just three hits-all singles-and did not allow a runner to reach second base. Clemens finished strong, retiring the last 15 hitters he faced. He struck out six and walked none. The RedHawks went up 2-0 in the second on a Mike Hessman home run and an RBI single by Brian Bixler. In the seventh, the RedHawks seemingly put the game away with four runs. However, Tucson rallied for five runs in the eighth to make it a 6-5. The Padres stranded the tying run at third later in the inning, and Jose Valdez kept Tucson scoreless in the ninth to earn his seventh save. Colt Hynes (0-4) had his best start of the season for Tucson, going a season-high six innings and allowing only two runs, but he took the loss.

Today's Probable Pitchers-- Aneury Rodriguez makes his first start for the RedHawks since being optioned from Houston a few days ago...On Tuesday, Rodriguez made a spot start for the Astros, going six strong inning against Miami...He allowed just two runs and two hits, but both hits were solo home runs...Rodriguez struck out six and walked two, but did not earn a decision...His previous start with the RedHawks was on May 2 in Albuquerque...It was his best start of the season, going seven innings and allowing just one run...Rodriguez currently leads the PCL with a 11.48 strikeout per nine innings rate, but he has lasted less than five innings in three of his six starts...Tucson's Josh Geer has had an up-and-down season...In four of seven starts, he's allowed six runs or more, but he's also had two starts allowing one run or less...Geer was the Padres 2007 Minor League Pitcher of the Year and made his Major League debut in 2008...He only pitched in two games last season after being diagnosed with Stage III Melanoma...Geer is now cancer free.

Busting Out-- After being held to three runs and 13 hits over the three-game series with Las Vegas, the RedHawks just about surpassed both of those marks with a six-run, 11-hit effort last night.

Winner, Winner-- The RedHawks have won back-to-back games for the first time in nearly two weeks since defeating Round Rock on April 28 and 29. They have not won three straight since sweeping a four-game series in Nashville, April 17-20.

Superior Starts-- The starting pitchers over the last four games have combined to post a 1.33 ERA and are on a 25-inning scoreless streak. Three of four starts went at least 6.2 innings and the starters have struck out 22 while walking just three. The five-run eighth inning by Tucson last night ended a 16-inning scoreless streak by the entire pitching staff.

Saving the Day-- After closing out last night's game, Jose Valdez is 7-for-7 in save opportunities this season. Last year he went 9-for-9.

Hessman Heating Up-- Mike Hessman is hitting .350 (14-for-40) over his last 11 games. He's had a multi-hit game in six of his last 11 starts, and during his last eight games he is 11-for-30 with three home runs.

You Better Think Twice-- The RedHawks have caught 19 of 40 attempted base stealers for a 47.5% caught stealing rate, easily the best in the PCL. (Sacramento is next at 40%.) Landon Powell ranks first in the league, going 9-for-15, and Carlos Corporan is second with a 10-for-25 mark.

Close Calls-- The RedHawks have eight one-run losses this season, the second-most in the PCL behind Iowa (11). Their four losses in extra innings are the most the PCL.

Against the Padres-- Since these teams are in opposing conferences, this will be the only series between the two clubs in 2012...Last season the RedHawks took three of four in Tucson, averaging eight runs per game and winning twice by eight runs...Drew Locke put up unreal numbers during last year's series: 8-for-17, three homers, three doubles and an eye-popping 14 RBIs...The last time the Padres' Triple-A affiilate visited OKC in 2010, they were the Portland Beavers.

Think Pink-- Some players will be using special pink bats and wearing pink wrist bands today as part of baseball's Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer initiative.

Pampering At The Park-- In honor of Mother's Day, Gildan is proud to present "Pampering at the Park". Gildan is offering free manicures and massages throughout the game as well as a special Mother's Day t-shirt.
