Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
Fresno, CA - Everett Teaford tossed six scoreless innings and David Lough finished a home run shy of hitting for the cycle as Omaha smothered Fresno, 10-1, Saturday night in the first of four meetings at Chukchansi Park. The Storm Chasers claimed their second straight win to improve to 24-13 overall and 2-3 on their eight-game swing through California. Lough paced a 15-hit, five walk attack with four hits while Tony Abreu drove in four and Anthony Seratelli chipped in with three hits, two runs scored and a run batted in.
The Storm Chasers broke up a scoreless game with a quartet of runs in the fourth. Abreu slugged a two-run homer to straightaway center, his second long ball in as many days, before Lough singled home a run and came into score on a Kevin Kouzmanoff sacrifice fly.
Lough collected his triple with one out in the sixth and that spelled the end of the night for Fresno starter Brian Burres, who was charged with the loss after yeilding five runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings. Seratelli greeted Jean Machi with a run-scoring single then stole second and scored when Kouzmanoff followed with a three-base hit of his own.
Omaha added four more runs in the eighth to put the game out of reach, as every hitter reached base at least once via a hit or walk and eight of the nine crossed the plate. Teaford allowed six hits, walked one and fanned four to earn his second victory before Jeremy Jeffress and Francisley Bueno finished the final three frames.
The series continues Sunday afternoon with Omaha right-hander Louis Coleman making his first start of the season against Fresno righty Eric Hacker. Coverage of the game gets underway at 3:45 PM and can be heard locally on AM 1180 and online at omahastormchasers.com.
