Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

PAPILLION, Neb. - Southpaw Ryan Verdugo was on point on Friday night and was supported by four Storm Chaser runs as Omaha defeated Oklahoma City, 4-2. Verdugo pushed his record to 3-0 as he held the RedHawks to just three hits in seven scoreless frames.

First baseman Clint Robinson was the key cog offensively in Friday's win with his 2-for-4 night at the dish. Robinson also drove in three of the Chasers' (19-10) four runs.

Jason Bourgeois doubled in the bottom of the third and Derrick Robinson then walked to put men on first and second. While Johnny Giavotella was at the plate, Bourgeois and D. Robinson executed a picture-perfect double steal to occupy second and third. C. Robinson then singled up the middle and into center field to score Bourgeois and D. Robinson to put the Chasers ahead, 2-0.

Anthony Seratelli added a single run in the fourth on a massive homer to left field. Omaha leapt ahead 4-0 in the fifth when the Robinson's tag-teamed together to score a run as Clint doubled in Derrick.

Oklahoma City (17-12) would not go down without a fight and cut into the Storm Chasers lead when Brian Bixler roped an RBI single to center in the eighth. The RedHawks tallied one final run in the ninth on a solo home run to come within two runs at 4-2. However, fireman Brandon Sisk was summoned from the bullpen to replace reliever Ethan Hollingsworth to collect the game's final out and ensure the 4-2 victory for Omaha.

The Storm Chasers and RedHawks will tangle again at Werner Park on Saturday with a first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Saturday's contest will feature a very special Warren Buffett Bank Giveaway for the first 1,500 fans that enter Werner Park. The Warren Buffett Bank Giveaway is sponsored by our friends at Bag N' Save. Saturday's game can be heard locally on AM 1180 and online at omahastormchasers.com.
