Rock Cats kick off Weekend Series against Red Sox Affiliate Friday

New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, will return home on Friday night (May 4) and open up a 3-game weekend series against the Boston Red Sox farm club, the Portland Sea Dogs. The Rock Cats are off to their best start in franchise history (17-9) and just completed a 6-1 road trip. New Britain is 4-2 on the current road trip and just percentage points out of first place in the EL Eastern Division.
The Rock Cats will light up the skies after Friday's 6:35 game with a Fireworks show at New Britain Stadium. On Saturday fans can arrive early to the pre-game block party. The event will feature a blue theme for Foster Care Awareness Night with many games and activities for the kids before the Rock Cats play the Sea Dogs at 6:35. Sunday, is the annual Mascot Day event, with many of Connecticut's favorite mascots participating in a kickball game before the Rock Cats play at 1:35. The Sea Dogs boast Red Sox prospect Brent Bryce on their roster, and he is expected to play this weekend.

The Rock Cats wrap up the two-city seven game road trip tonight at Harrisburg. New Britain will be facing former New York Yankees 19-game winner Chien-Ming Wang, who is with the Senators on major league rehab.
